Kruczek Student Council at the 1st Tychy May Symposium
28.05.2026 20:33
Yesterday, our Kruczek Student Council, together with the Head Joanna Wojtynek and the supervisor Katarzyna Olędzka-Prykowska, took part in the 1st Tychy May Symposium – New Edition named after Prof. Marek S. Szczepański, which was held at the Mediateka Tychy.
In the first part of the event, we had the opportunity to listen to interesting lectures about the Tychy community, urban space, and the local economy. The speakers presented various perspectives on the city’s development and its contemporary challenges.
Next, we participated in a debate addressing current issues in the city of Tychy, proposed solutions, as well as ways to encourage young people to stay in the city and to activate older residents. It was a valuable space for reflection on the future of the local community.
After a short break, we took part in the ceremonial session of the Tychy City Council, which began with a special concert. Another part of the program included a film about Tychy, in which our school also appeared thanks to a statement by General Roman Polko. This was followed by a lecture on the history of Tychy delivered by Dr. Maria Lipok-Bierwiaczonek, as well as laudations connected with the awarding of Honorary Citizenship of the City of Tychy, which presented the profiles of the distinguished individuals.
We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in such a valuable and inspiring event. We hope that future editions of the Symposium will also allow us to actively explore and co-create the space of our city ❤️
