Three-Day Conference organised by IBDP students as their CAS project
From April 13–15, 2026, our school hosted a three-day educational project in the form of a conference organized by students of IBDP1 class. The event was an excellent opportunity to expand knowledge in the fields of medicine, science, and new technologies, as well as to meet invited specialists.
The conference was inaugurated on Monday, April 13, with a lecture by Julia Musialska titled “Medical dramas – myths and misinformation in popular medical series.” Later, participants had the opportunity to attend two inspiring lectures by Ms. Paulina Kania-Olejnik—a graduate of Leon Kruczkowski High School No. 1 and the Medical University of Silesia, currently a resident in general surgery and a practitioner of aesthetic medicine. The second day of the conference, April 14, began with a laboratory lecture conducted by the HealthTalk Science team. The next highlight was a lecture by Dr. Piotr Gościniewicz titled “How do we see the world? The mysteries of human vision,” which attracted great interest among participants. The final day of the event, April 15, featured presentations on the history and future of plastic surgery, delivered by Marta Dawidowska, as well as a lecture by Dr. Paweł Musialski. The conference concluded with a presentation by Antonina Kos from class 1c titled “AI in medicine,” showcasing the growing role of artificial intelligence in modern healthcare.
The three-day conference was not only an opportunity to gain new knowledge, but also to develop passions, organizational skills, and public speaking abilities. We would like to thank all speakers and participants for their engagement and active involvement in the event. Good job – Dominika, Jadzia, Julia and Marta! Kudos!
