Pre-IB 2 In the UK
On April 17, we flew to Great Britain. We planned to visit 3 cities – London, Oxford and Windsor. Right at the start, after landing, we set off to explore the city of students, i.e. Oxford. It is a charming and atmospheric town of Alice in Wonderland, full of hidden paths, passages, greenery and historic buildings. We also had the opportunity to sail along the Thames, observing the skyscrapers and monuments of London, and then get away from the noise of the streets in the huge gardens of Kew Gardens, where, in addition to visiting the wonderful palm houses, we had workshops. We also visited Hampton Court palace – Henry VIII’s huge castle, which opened onto even larger gardens with many attractions. Additionally, we had the opportunity to see the musical „Lion King”, which was a unique experience. To top it all, we visited the National Gallery of Arts where we saw many works by outstanding painters of various times. (the account and pictures by Milena Wilchelm – thank you!)
