The Art of Paper Folding – Origami Workshops with 3M Students Our school hosted a unique workshop on the art of origami, led by 3M IBDP students Karolina Szewczuk, Melania Lowne-Hughes, and Nadia Przybyła.

The girls not only showcased their skills but also took participants on a fascinating journey to the land of Eastern culture. At the beginning of the workshop, the instructors introduced us to the historical background of origami. They shared the first records of this art, which originated in China and developed in Japan. They explained how the first paper figures were created – initially, they served religious and symbolic purposes, eventually becoming a popular form of entertainment and artistic expression.

The workshops were not only a lesson in patience and precision, but above all, a wonderful opportunity for team-building and shared fun. Thanks to the dedication and passion of Karolina, Melania, and Nadia, we were able to learn the secrets of Japanese craftsmanship and see how a simple piece of paper can be transformed into a small work of art.
