On April 26, ceremonies were held to commemorate the 86th anniversary of the Katyń Massacre — a tragic event that is forever inscribed in the history of our nation.
The celebrations were attended by the Head Joanna Wojtynek together with the school’s flag squad, representing the school community and paying tribute to the murdered victims. The presence of students and teachers was an expression of remembrance and respect for the victims and their families. The student flag squad was accompanied by Mr. Jarosław Grabowski.
The Student Council was represented by Wojciech Widuch.
The ceremonies began with a Holy Mass at the Church of Blessed Karolina, after which participants proceeded to the Katyń Monument, where the second part of the commemorations took place. The gathering provided an opportunity for reflection on history and on the importance of truth and memory in building the future.
During the ceremony, a speech was delivered by the President of Tychy, Maciej Gramatyka, who emphasized the importance of preserving national memory and passing it on to future generations.
The event was organized by the Society of Friends of Lwów and the Borderlands, which has for many years been dedicated to preserving the memory of the victims and the history of the Eastern Borderlands.
