So, although it won’t be “dark everywhere”, nor, for that matter, “silent everywhere” – after all, it’s hard to expect silence in a busy school corridor during break time – tomorrow, 4 September, our school radio will be transformed into a special broadcast station, giving students, teachers and other members of staff the opportunity to listen to excerpts from Adam Mickiewicz’s Dziady, performed by the actors from TheMaskowani Theatre Group.
So come and listen to Konrad’s anguished struggle with God, Gustaw’s sorrow over his unhappy love, and Guślarz’s incantations as he summons the spirits.
Who knows? Perhaps the great characters of Mickiewicz’s drama will be lured by the sound of the reading and appear among us, blending into the crowds of students in the school corridors…
