      • On June 26, the official end-of-year ceremony for the 2025/2026 school year took place. For students of Years 1, 2, and 3, it marked a moment of reflection on many months of intensive learning, hard work, the development of passions, and numerous achievements. After a demanding school year, the entire school community is now beginning its long-awaited summer break.
The ceremony began with a welcome address to students, teachers, parents, and invited guests. The event was hosted by students from Classes 1d1 and 1d2, who ensured the smooth and professional course of the celebration.
A summary of the past school year was presented by the Headteacher, Ms. Joanna Wojtynek, who highlighted the most important achievements of our school community. In her speech, she presented impressive academic results, high class GPAs, and individual student successes, emphasizing their diligence, consistency, and commitment. It was an excellent opportunity to proudly reflect on the results of shared efforts by students, teachers, and parents.
The ceremony was enriched by a performance from the Kruczek Artistic Group, whose musical contribution created a unique atmosphere and added a special character to the end-of-year celebration.
As tradition dictates, students who achieved the highest academic results were honored during the event. The most outstanding students received book prizes from the Headteacher in recognition of their year-long effort, perseverance, and academic achievements, while in classrooms they were presented with their certificates by their form tutors.
A particularly moving moment of the ceremony was the recognition of students from Class 1M – Eliza Kopera and Janek Tomczyk – who demonstrated extraordinary heroism by saving the life of a drowning man the previous weekend. Their courage, composure, and ability to provide first aid were met with great admiration from the entire school community. The ceremony was attended by the mothers of our young heroes, Ms. Hanna Kopera and Ms. Anna Tomczyk.
The event was also attended by the Mayor of Tychy, Mr. Maciej Gramatyka, who once again personally thanked Eliza and Janek for their heroic actions, emphasizing that they serve as a model of responsibility, courage, and readiness to help others. On behalf of the City Council and the residents of Tychy, he expressed gratitude for their actions, and the audience responded with a long standing ovation. He concluded his speech by wishing all students, teachers, and staff a peaceful, safe, and enjoyable holiday.
The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the emergency and rescue services: Mr. Łukasz Pach – Director of the Regional Emergency Medical Service in Katowice; Mr. Paweł Nowicki – Representative of the Director of the Regional Emergency Medical Service in Katowice; Mr. Krzysztof Wójcik – President of the Silesian Volunteer Water Rescue Service; and Mr. Paweł Ciepliński – Vice President of the Silesian Volunteer Water Rescue Service.
Representatives of the Emergency Medical Service and the Water Rescue Service thanked Eliza and Janek for their courage, composure, and exemplary reaction in a life-threatening situation. In recognition of their heroic deed, they were awarded medals for special merit in saving human life. This was a deeply symbolic and emotional moment highlighting the significance of their actions. As an additional gesture of recognition, Janek received a funded lifeguard certification course, while Eliza received an advanced lifeguard course, enabling them to further develop their lifesaving skills.
Another exceptional distinction was the awarding of university admission “index cards” to Eliza and Janek, granted in recognition of their extraordinary contribution to saving human life. This remarkable gesture demonstrated that courage, responsibility, and willingness to help others are values recognized and appreciated beyond the school environment.
The Headteacher, together with form tutor Ms. Natalia Nowosad, presented gifts, and the Kruczkowska Artistic Group performed a song for them – “Flashlight” by Jessie J.
Eliza and Janek, thank you once again!
After the official part, the ceremony transitioned into its artistic segment, celebrating the end of the school year through music and performance. It began with a performance by Mr. Szymon Jurczyński and his band, featuring Hanna Łaski, Lena Flasińska, Hanna Najda, and Lena Skibińska, performing “Good Riddance” by Green Day. Vocals were performed by Melania Lowne–Hughes. This was followed by a film created by Filip Borkowski, showcasing school events and summarizing the passing school year. Finally, the highlight of the event was a joint performance by the Kruczek Artistic Group and Mr. Jurczyński’s band, performing “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen. Special thanks were extended to Bartosz Stroiński, Jakub Szweda, and Paweł Czerwik for technical support of the event.
This year’s end-of-year ceremony was not only an opportunity to summarize academic achievements but also a beautiful lesson in the values that form the foundation of our school community – responsibility, empathy, courage, and mutual respect.
We would like to thank all students for their year-long effort, teachers for their dedication and daily commitment, parents for their support, and everyone who contributes to the life of our school. And so—this is the end. No more quizzes, tests, or oral exams. Summer begins!
We wish everyone a sunny, joyful, adventure-filled, and above all safe holiday. See you in September!
