In June 2026, our school carried out further activities within the framework of the EU-funded project “Improving the Quality of Educational Provision at Leon Kruczkowski High School No. 1 in Tychy.” The aim of these initiatives was to develop students’ social, civic, and environmental competencies while fostering attitudes based on respect, responsibility, and openness.
On June 11, 18, and 23, workshops focused on preventing discrimination and violence related to legally protected characteristics were conducted for first-year students. Approximately 80 students participated in the sessions. The workshops, led by school counsellor Ms. Aneta Kołtun and school psychologist Ms. Agnieszka Zdebik, addressed topics such as stereotypes, prejudice, anti-discrimination practices, and the development of respect, tolerance, and responsibility in social relationships.
Another activity was an environmental education workshop held on June 19. Around 20 students from Years 1–3 took part in the event. The workshop, led by Ms. Iwona Wrzos-Stefan, was inspired by the principles of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and focused on raising environmental awareness among young people and promoting responsible attitudes toward the natural environment.
Both initiatives contributed to broadening students’ knowledge, developing their social and civic competencies, strengthening pro-environmental attitudes, and fostering a conscious, responsible, and inclusive school community.
The project is co-financed by the European Union and constitutes an important element of the school’s efforts to support the comprehensive development of its students.
