      • Safe Holidays – Safety Day at I LO

      • 01.07.2026 15:45

      • On June 22, 2026, our school held a Safety Day aimed at preparing students for a safe and enjoyable summer break while also expanding their knowledge of appropriate behavior in emergency situations.
As part of the event, students attended two presentations led by professionals with extensive experience in safety and rescue services.
In Room 69, students took part in a lecture delivered by Ms. Honorata Bończak, an officer of the Municipal Police in Tychy. During the session, students learned about safe behavior in public spaces, personal responsibility for their decisions, and practical ways to avoid everyday risks and dangers.
The second part of the event took place in the main gymnasium and featured a presentation by Gabriela Dyduch, a graduate of Class 4d2 at our school and currently a lifeguard with WOPR (the Volunteer Water Rescue Service). Drawing on her knowledge and experience, she spoke about water safety and responsible behavior at swimming areas and recreational waters. Students learned essential safety rules, appropriate responses to dangerous situations, and the crucial role lifeguards play in saving lives.
The importance of water safety awareness became especially clear to us very recently. Last weekend, two students from Class 1m, Janek Tomczyk and Eliza Kopera, demonstrated remarkable courage, responsibility, and composure by helping to save the life of a drowning man. Not only did they take effective rescue action, but they also provided first aid until emergency services arrived. Their actions are powerful proof that knowledge, quick thinking, and a willingness to help others can save lives.

We are incredibly proud of Janek and Eliza. Their conduct deserves the highest recognition and serves as an inspiring example of responsibility, bravery, and care for others.
We would like to thank Ms. Honorata Bończak and Gabriela Dyduch for sharing their expertise, delivering engaging presentations, and dedicating their time to our students. We hope that the knowledge gained during this event will help our students enjoy a safe, responsible, and thoughtful summer holiday.
We wish everyone a peaceful, enjoyable, and above all, safe vacation!
